Fraudulent emails regarding refund due to you

It has been noticed that assessees have been receiving fraudulent emails regarding refund due to them from the tax department.
The email apparently has fake address of the income tax department and is using the email addresses of efilling@incometaxindia.gov.in & refund@incometaxindia.gov.in requiring the assessees to provide their bank account user id and password.
All assessees receiving such emails are advised to exercise caution and not reply / act as the income tax department does not send out such information gathering mailers.
